So I got to do some more drag racing on my Harley this weekend at English Mtn dragstrip during Rally at the Strip. I won my 1st two races and ran a 8.2 second ET in one race, the fastest in the cruiser class, but got beat by a Softtail when I spun a little off the line and ran an 8.7. They first said it was double elimination, but in the middle of the races they changed it to single. When I got beat, I thought I was done, so I stopped at the end of the strip to talk to some friends. When I got back down to the starting line area, I was told they were calling my # to run again. WTF?

Have you seen the story about John Lee Nevans, who allegedly killed the elderly man in his home recently? Well, I KNOW JOHN LEE NEVANS PERSONALLY. He is from my home town of Livingston, Tenn and was an old family friend. His father, Dr. H.B. Nevans and my grandfather started a drugstore in Livingston in 1957. I haven't seen him in over 30 years, but it's kinda eerie that I know someone who committed murder. FREAKY

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Every day, volunteers with the Senior Citizen's Awareness Network, or SCAN, check on the elderly in our region.
They look for security issues and talk with the elderly about latest scams. But most importantly, they simply spend some time with them.
But, now they're in need of your help.

I was very proud and honored yesterday to be awarded the National Guard Seven Seals Award from Iraqi War veteran Michael Testerman of the 278th ACR, his wife Jenny and Dave Goodman, representative of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). The presentation (see picture) reads, "Presented to Billy Kidd for meritorious leadership and initiative in support of the men and women who serve America in the National Guard and Reserve". They tell me this is the highest honor that can be awarded to a civilian! Thank you and thanks to all for your service to this great country !

Great grandfathers watched as their friends died in the Civil War.
My father watched as his friends died in WW II.

(CNN) -- Leonard Skinner, the gym teacher who inspired the name of the legendary southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, has died.
The band announced his death on its website, saying Skinner died in his sleep early Monday morning. He was 77.
"Coach Skinner had such a profound impact on our youth that ultimately led us to naming the band, which you know as Lynyrd Skynyrd, after him," wrote Gary Rossington, guitarist and a founding member of the band.
"Looking back, I cannot imagine it any other way. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time."

UK: Woman Put Cat in Bin - Death Threats on the Internet
In Coventry a middle-aged woman was caught on CCTV putting a cat in a wheelie bin - now death threats had been made against her on the internet. The woman was offered police protection because the Coventry residents are extremely angry.
"West Midlands Police are taking her safety extremely seriously", a reporter said. The owners found their cat after 16 hours in the bin in her own mess, but still alive.
The woman was not arrested because she did not commit a criminal offence, Conventry Police said.
