Dogwood Arts Bazillion Blooms

Wed, 10/01/2014 (All day) - Fri, 10/31/2014 (All day)

Bazillion Blooms is a community-wide dogwood tree-planting program to beautify our East Tennessee communities, improve the health of our environment and foster community support and pride in our beloved native dogwood.

Our goal is to restore dogwoods to their former vitality in Knox and surrounding counties. Over the years, dogwoods have died out due to disease, development and neglect. Our dogwoods are battling to survive.  In the last five years, more than 6,550 dogwood trees have been planted in East Tennessee through the Bazillion Blooms program!

Our deadline has passed to purchase bare-root dogwood trees, but you can visit these participating garden centers for larger dogwood trees and other blooms to enrich your yard this spring: Stanley’s GreenhousesMayo Garden Centers, and Ellenburg Landscaping & Nursery!

Not quite sure how to plant or care for bareroot dogwood trees – other than you know you need to plant in December and that they need water?  Check out these tree planting instructions or check out this great five-minute video by Knoxville Botanical Garden & Arboretum’s Brian Campbell & Mathew McMillan!
