The Purge
In the years following an economic collapse, a group known as the New Founding Fathers of America has been able to turn things around.  The economy is booming, the unemployment rate is less than one percent and crime is extremely low.  In order to maintain the hard work and goodwill of the people, the New Founding Fathers have established the Purge.  Once a year for 12 hours all crime is legal, including murder.  Only the highest ranking government officials are exempt from the Purge which is used to allow the people to vent all their rage and negative feelings.

Now You See Me
Four magicians of varying fame, Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher) and Jack Wilder (Dave Franco) are each given a Tarot card with an apartment’s address in New York City.  As they each arrive and introduce themselves, there is a noticeable tension between Daniel and Henley as she used to be his assistant before she struck out on her own.

Fast and Furious 6
After their heist in Rio de Janeiro netted the gang a cool $100-million, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker) have settled down in a nation that has beautiful scenery and no extradition treaty with the United States.  Dom lives with Elena (Elsa Pataky) and Brian is with Dom’s sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) and their newborn son Jack.  The rest of the crew is scattered around the world enjoying the lifestyle their ill-gotten gains provides.  Agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) of the Diplomatic Security Service tracks Dom to his home.

Star Trek Into Darkness

Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) has saved his first officer Spock (Zachary Quinto) from the heart of an active volcano on the planet Nibiru.  Doing so has exposed the indigenous population to the sight of the massive starship Enterprise rising from the depths of the ocean, violating the United Federation of Planets’ Prime Directive to not interfere with in the development of primitive alien societies.

The Great Gatsby

Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a mysterious man of immense wealth living in a posh neighborhood outside of New York City in the 1920’s.  Numerous rumors swirl around Gatsby:  He is an assassin of/for the Kaiser, he’s a killer, he’s a titan of business.  Whatever is said about Gatsby, no one has any reliable information about his past or how he gained his wealth.  Massive parties are thrown on the Gatsby estate every weekend attracting the movers and shakers of the era.

Iron Man 3

Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) has had a rough time of it since the alien invasion of New York and his time with the Avengers as Iron Man.  Stark can’t sleep and when he does his dreams are filled with images of the worm hole and his falling and more.  To occupy his time, Stark has built several different versions of his Iron Man suit.  He now is up to the 42nd design.  Stark has also injected himself with microprocessors that allow him to control his suits remotely.

Pain & Gain

Daniel Lugo (Mark Wahlberg) is a bodybuilder with ambitions of greatness.  He sees the rich and beautiful people of Miami coming and going at Sun Gym where he works as a trainer and wonders why he isn’t one of them.  A new client, Victor Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub) seems particularly unworthy of his wealth as he is spoiled and self-centered.  He treats everyone as unworthy of his time and loves to brag about his chain of deli sandwich shops, stock market investments and secret off shore accounts.

Oblivion

Earth is nearly uninhabitable after a war with aliens known as Scavengers (Scavs for short).  The Scavs destroyed the Moon which caused massive earthquakes and tsunami then sent down an invasion force.  To win the war, humanity had to use nuclear weapons.  While the Scavs were defeated, most of the planet was ruined.  What’s left of humanity is either heading for Saturn’s moon Titan or living on a giant orbiting space station called the Tet.

Scary Movie V

After a long and complicated intimate encounter, Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan (playing themselves) are attacked by an evil spirit or ghost.  Charlie is killed and his three children disappear.  Months later, they are found in a cabin in the woods by Snoop Dogg and Mac Miller (playing themselves).  The children are put in the care of Dan and Jody Sanders (Simon Rex and Ashley Tisdale), a young married couple.
