What can I say… I left Contagion, went straight to the Men's room and washed my hands. I got home and found the hand sanitizer and doused them again. I was annoyed every time someone coughed in the movie because I thought I was sure to be infected by some contagion. Maybe that was the purpose of this movie. Just an hour and 45 minute commercial (right before Flu season) reminding us to wash up or else! I didn't find this movie to be very good at all, but it's not the typical movie I would go to see either. As this is my first movie review, I tried to go into it with an open mind and not make any judgments before hand. 10 minutes into it, I was bored to say the least. But read on to find out more about the plot and why I failed to see the point.

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.  We’ve heard this dire warning for decades however we continue to ignore it.  While this admonition is meant for more important and serious events like wars, economics and elections, it also applies to those who create and produce our popular entertainment.  A few weeks ago, three of the four wide release movies were sequels, remakes or reboots of previous films.  While I’m sure every effort was made to create the best movies possible, none of those films has done very well at the box office.

While I enjoy going on vacation, the parts I dislike the most are the driving there and the driving back.  Long journeys in a car are very boring to me.  Some people enjoy a long car trip because they like looking at the passing scenery.  Not me.  I’m one of those “it’s not the journey, it’s the destination” travelers.  If I wanted to spend my entire vacation on the road, I’d own a motor home.  Nope, I want the journey to be over just as soon as the trip begins so I can enjoy the destination.  But what is true about a ca

Early in my radio career, I worked for a station owner who seemed completely out of touch with what was going on in the business he had been in for over 30 years.  He had me and my co-workers playing a mixture of music from numerous genres and decades.  You might hear the Bee Gees followed by Hugo Montenegro followed by Garth Brooks.  It was a mess of a format that would never work.  I and the other jocks would often refer to the station at WREK, a wreck of a radio station.  The mishmash of styles didn’t attract an audience, advertising dried up and he had to
